Stand UP For Family!!

I know that I have SOME blog readers who are younger than I am...but I also have some that are around my age...do you remember those GREAT times you had as a kid...when you'd leave the house in the morning and stay outside ALL DAY long...and only head home when you thought it must be getting time for dinner?? We used to play "Kick the Can" for hours on end. Or, we'd hike into the woods and just explore....stuff...nothing in particular...build a tree fort! There were times we'd get a regular mayo jar out of the cupboard and poke holes in the lid...catch lightning bugs!

That WAS the entertainment of the day folks. At least growing up in the midwest...we had plenty to do...we had IMAGINATION. I think that is missing from today's world. The kids today have absolutely no idea how to amuse themselves without their video games. Just try taking the cell phone away from a teenager. They will scream! They just will NOT know what to do with themselves.

I think part of the American Family is falling apart. This is just my opinion, but I would be willing to bet that there are others out there who agree with me. These videos demonstrate what is missing in today's world!! Whatever happened to spending the day at a state park...having a picnic with your family? It doesn't seem to happen as much anymore. We used to have dinner together as a family every single night. At the very same kitchen table. Nowadays...that doesn't happen so much!!

I think what American Family Insurance is doing is a valiant effort and one that should be commended!!
